Commitment to Diversity

The Forensic Science Graduate Program is committed to promoting an environment in which all students, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, national origin, ability, visa status, religion, age or economic background, are welcome, well supported, and given the tools they need to thrive intellectually.  Our holistic admissions process takes into account, along with more traditional academic criteria, applicants’ personal backgrounds as well as their potential for leadership for promoting diversity and equity in higher education.

We encourage our students to make use of resources on campus related to graduate diversity.  Our Graduate Diversity Officer, Devin L. Horton ( is available to help answer questions, resolve problems, and help identify resources for supporting our diverse graduate student population.

Through the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, DEI, the following resources are available.

Reporting discrimination and hate

Racial trauma resources

Student Health and Mental Counseling Services
